Retiring?

Congratulations!

Congratulations on reaching this exciting milestone! Retiring and entering into Medicare marks the beginning of a well-deserved new chapter in life—one filled with freedom, opportunity, and time to focus on what matters most to you.

As you begin this new phase, we're here to ensure that you have coverage in your retirement years that’s just as good—if not better—than what you had while working. Our goal is to give you peace of mind and make sure your healthcare needs continue to be fully supported, so you can enjoy retirement with confidence.

When you decide to retire

There are several things that need to happen:

  • Decide on a retirement date
  • Inform HR of your decision to retire, provide appropriate SSA form to be completed.
  • Enroll in Medicare and establish an effective date so that there is no lapse in coverage
  • Determine the type of plan that is right for you (Medicare supplement vs Medicare Advantage) and choose a plan that best fits your medical and financial needs
  • Enroll during your Initial Election window

NOTE: This is especially important if you delayed your enrollment in Part B while you have been covered on your company plan. The rules are a bit different.
